In view of a recent article entitled "While Malaysia Fiddles, Its Opportunities Are Running Dry" penned by Michael Backman while sparked much furore, here is what I got to say. I am absolutely supportive of what Michael Backman has written. There are too many controversial matters that exist and what most would term as "Waste". And I do stand up to the fact that we as citizens of Malaysia are not to comment on how our country is run....Sigh!!!! I understand why most people couldnt care less coz ultimately there is nothing we can do about it even having fret, whined and complained.

On a separate matter, being a regular reader of The Stars, I do feel that it has somewhat turned into a "Moral" paper...frequenting news on 'Unity' and 'Advisory' issues to the Rakyat. A lot of which I do not categorise as News. Recent headlines on "speeding up developments" are somewhat frustating. Are those merely line of orders??? Or have some strategic system or regulations implemented to improve management of the projects??? Honestly, I would love to hear news on improvements in our standard of living in Malaysia. Not like the NYE gift of increased toll rates to welcome 2007....Jeez!!!!

Anyway do spend some time reading the articles in Michael Backman's webpage. I am very amused by how much he understands Malaysia Land which often spells the Truth. Silence is not golden after all!!!! Apologies for saying so about my own country but this is how its viewed. And for those who have not read any of the articles, do visit www.michaelbackman.com

Can any of you imagine if Malaysia has an author like Michael Moore???

Also such thoughts shouldnt be appearing in blogs as I know there is a government committee set up to screen through blogs that may provoke racial or unrest matters in Malaysia. I dont know how they do it but do be Wary!!! Hmm...I dont mind being paid to read someone elses blogs all day!!!

New Age Men

Read this article on new age male category in The Star newspaper and thought of sharing to all....

Metrosexual...the men style category we all know, defined by the fact that he is single and in touch with his feminine side. Is buffed from head to toe and always draped in fashionable clothes. Makes enough money to stay up to date with latest hairstyles, clothes and shoes. Confuses guys with his sexuality (Eerrr...i think this is incorrect, you wouldnt want to do that). Is able to impress women with his appreciation for literature, cinema or other arts, his flair for cooking, his ability to pick the perfect wine and music and his eye for interior design. In short, an urban male who has a strong aesthetic sense and spends a great amount of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle. Example given Brad Pitt.

Mirl...new breed of man that makes metrosexual yesterday's news. Male-girl or Mirls are not afraid to go shopping, have their faces and nails done, and what else, discuss them with each other. The colour pink is a prominent feature of their wardrobe, have an array of wrist straps, beads, chokers, scarves and can’t bear to leave your home carrying just your wallet and phone. Sounds like some urban definition of 'Sissy' to me but surprisingly example given was Rob Thomas (how could this be???).

Ubersexual...the latest generation of men style and the talk of town. The term coined by advertising agency JWT described men who display all the positives of male-ness – confidence, leadership, passion, compassion (without giving in to the negatives), emotional emptiness, ignorance of anything cultural. Ubersexuals and metrosexuals differ on several levels. Ubers are emotionally available while metros are emotionally vacant. Ubers are concerned with the world around them while metros are concerned with their diet. Ubers are obsessed with quality and integrity and metros are obsessed with their figure. Examples given George Clooney, Bill Clinton, Ewan McGregor, Diddy, Jay-Z and Bono.

Interesting isnt it....so where might you fit in??? Or the old style of beer, couch, a big fat stomach and sports still the favourite description???....Hahaha.....

Gougane Barra

Tagged along with Paul on Sunday to Gougane Barra (Goo-gan-Bar-ra), this small serene forest park abt an hour drive from Cork city. Got there abt 12pm, and starting venturing around the park. Apart from the car engine noises in the carpark, the peace and serenity in the forest was an amusement to me. I have never been to such a quiet place in my life. The forest, lake and mountain backdrop made me wonder how pple live here back in the medieval ages where there's no tv, car or anything. In the city, every second you could here external noises frm somewhere or something. But here, the quietness is unbelievable!!! Ahhh...No wonder they can hear horses or footsteps when they put their ear to the ground, just like in the movies...Hahaha!!! Should have tried that!!! We walked, hiked, photo-shots and explored the forest park for abt 4hrs. We had to make our way out as its winter now and it gets dark by 5pm. And you have to watch your steps, there are alot of faeces on the ground...Small Round Looking Shit like Maltesers everywhere in clusters!!! I wonder is that rabbit, sheep or bats droppings...anyone ever seen bat's droppings??? Some parts of the forest was extremely Cold, you could feel it immediately when you walk thru it...Spooky stuff!!! Apart from that, everything else was excellent. The view, the walk and the exercise were all GOOD!!!! Just one disappointment is next time cold season, not a good time and sight for photos. Most trees have shed their leaves and looking brown or near death...Hehe!!!

BurFDay BASHHhhh....

Yes..Yes...its a BIG BIG BuRfDaY BaSHhh on a Saturday nite in London. Apparently there are Four fellas celebrating this month...Myself, Lisa, Joyce and WanLi...to the SCORPIOS!!! Dinner venue was at La Cantina, Italian cuisine near Goodge St Station. Vincent Cheah joined me for dinner, and so did Tristan and Hilda. They are both here in London now working, so have to meet up! Leonard (Tristan's cousin) oso joined us that nite. It was a GreAT get-together for the us, shared so MucH!!! It was good turn out that nite, I think abt 26pple....GosH....dats a Lot!!! There was a birthday cake, pressie for the four and of course CLuBBing after dat!!! What a Night...I really EnjoYed myself...so mUch that getting Drunk is the Best Way to End this FanTasTic Nite...Hahaha!!! Enjoy the pictures....
